Editorial Standards
Havenraft editorial standards
Our job is to make the home improvement and kitchen tradeoffs visible before a shopper clicks through to a product page.
Where do specifications come from?
A coffee maker's dimensions and a coffee grinder's ratings come from manufacturer specifications with the source type, vintage, and cadence recorded; an outside figure enters the home improvement and kitchen record only from a named, comparable source. See the source hierarchy.
A ranged home improvement and kitchen spec is logged at its conservative end and flagged as a floor, not a ceiling — a coffee maker or coffee grinder reads honestly even at its worst listed value. Numbers are never rounded up, and a drawback is never dropped to help an affiliate partner's product.
Each product entry goes through the same data-collection process regardless of its commercial relationship to Havenraft, so a home improvement and kitchen pick with an affiliate link is measured exactly like one without.
How are corrections handled?
When a coffee maker changes, disappears, or stops matching its listed specs, we update the affected home improvement and kitchen row and the visible checked date; if a correction changes the top pick, the copy and score table are rebuilt together.
A verified home improvement and kitchen discrepancy is fixed immediately rather than batched. A reader-reported coffee maker error, once confirmed, updates the record with the resolving source type noted — and no reader is named unless they request it.
How is accuracy maintained?
Havenraft does not publish a home improvement and kitchen recommendation until the data behind it is collected from at least one primary source; a coffee maker or coffee grinder row with a missing scored dimension is labeled not-listed and given the neutral 50 grade rather than filled with a category average. That grade is the same neutral 50 described in the methodology, applied so a missing dimension never inflates or deflates a rank.
An affiliate relationship never changes how a coffee maker is scored or described: a home improvement and kitchen product with a commission link is judged by the same criteria as one without. Weights are set before data collection and not tuned to results, and scores run 0/100 (no match) to 100/100 (best fit), independent of any commercial tie.
Found a wrong coffee maker figure? Send the tool, product, exact field, and a corrected source; every home improvement and kitchen report is reviewed on the evidence, never on who sent it. Use the contact page to send it in.
