Editorial Standards
Havenraft editorial standards
Our job is to make the bath, flooring & rugs, home improvement, and kitchen tradeoffs visible before a shopper clicks through to a product page.
Where do specifications come from?
Behind each bath, flooring & rugs, home improvement, and kitchen figure is a named source, its vintage, and its refresh cadence: manufacturer specs for a smart ac controller's dimensions or a portable air conditioner's ratings, and an outside figure only when a named source publishes comparable data. See the source hierarchy.
When a smart ac controller or portable air conditioner spec is published as a range, we record its conservative end and mark it a minimum rather than a peak, so a bath, flooring & rugs, home improvement, and kitchen buyer plans against a realistic floor. We never round a number up to flatter a product, and never omit a drawback to protect an affiliate partner's smart ac controller.
Each product entry goes through the same data-collection process regardless of its commercial relationship to Havenraft, so a bath, flooring & rugs, home improvement, and kitchen pick with an affiliate link is measured exactly like one without.
How are corrections handled?
A portable air conditioner that is revised, discontinued, or no longer matches its specs triggers an update to its bath, flooring & rugs, home improvement, and kitchen row and the visible checked date, and a changed top pick rebuilds the copy and table in step.
Corrections land as soon as we verify the discrepancy, not on a schedule. When a reader flags a smart ac controller error we verify, we update the record and note the source type that resolved it; we do not credit readers by name unless they ask.
How is accuracy maintained?
Before a bath, flooring & rugs, home improvement, and kitchen rank goes live, each smart ac controller or portable air conditioner row is backed by a primary source — no averages from other models, no category norms — and any scored field that is genuinely absent is marked not-listed and given the neutral 50 grade. That grade is the same neutral 50 described in the methodology, applied so a missing dimension never inflates or deflates a rank.
A portable air conditioner with a commission link is scored on the same bath, flooring & rugs, home improvement, and kitchen criteria as a smart ac controller with none; the weights are fixed before collection and never re-tuned to the outcome. Scores span 0/100 to 100/100 and ignore any commercial relationship entirely.
How are these scores produced?
Scoring here is automated: an algorithm applies the published weights to a smart ac controller's or portable air conditioner's manufacturer specifications and other named source records. There is no hands-on testing lab and no human review panel — we do not buy or trial physical bath, flooring & rugs, home improvement, and kitchen products before publishing a score.
Spot a bath, flooring & rugs, home improvement, and kitchen error? Report it with the tool name, the smart ac controller, the specific field, and the source you believe is correct. We respond to the data, not the identity of the reporter. Use the contact page to send it in.
